Use continuous power

Connect the phone to a reliable car charger before recording. Battery-only recording may not last for a full journey, particularly at higher resolutions.

Reduce heat where possible

• Keep the phone out of direct sunlight where possible.
• Do not cover vents or place the phone against a hot surface.
• Use a sound mount that leaves the phone exposed to air.
• Stop and let the phone cool if it becomes unusually hot.

Test your exact phone

Heat and charging behaviour varies between phones, cases, chargers and weather. Test a normal drive before relying on the setup.
